3 Bottles of 2018 Domaine Vetriccie Biancu Gentile
This wine comes from the island of Corsica, which is technically French. However, the Italian influence is unmistakeable. This lovely white wine is made from a local grape, Biancu Gentile, that has recently been revived. It has a bright lemon color. The nose reveals perfumes of macerated lemon. The palate is full and offers a good texture and citrus notes. The acidity and minerality blend perfectly.
3 Bottles of 2017 Justin Girardin Bourgogne Blanc
This family has been present in Burgundy since 1570. Justin represents the 13th generation. He has an inexhaustible energy, and he shows boldness and determination. His experiences outside Burgundy and abroad bring a modern touch and creativity in his winemaking. He is the nephew of renowned Burgundy producer Vincent Girardin. This wine is 100% Chardonnay from the commune of Santenay in Burgundy. It is aged for 12 months in French Oak. Brilliant in color, it has a good balance between aromatic complexity and freshness. This wine has an expansive, complex bouquet that evokes fresh pear, white peach and honey. It is dry and stony on the palate, and offers intense citrus and orchard fruit flavors with a touch of anise. The palate closes with building smokiness, a touch of bitter pear skin and very good persistence.
3 Bottles of 2016 Louis Latour Domaine de Valmoissine Pinot Noir
Domaine de Valmoissine is located on the site of the ancient monastery and university of Valmoissine at 500 meters above sea-level in Verdun in Northeast France. This wine is elegant and shows remarkable finesse. Ruby color and a complex nose with cocoa and ripe fruits echo wines from the south of France. The mouth is ample and round with silky tannins and undergrowth hints. It finishes with a nice persistence in the mouth.
3 Bottles of 2019 Chateau Monplaisir
Bordeaux is the largest vineyard for appellation wines in the whole of France. Situated in the South West near the Atlantic, it is crossed by the rivers Garonne and Dordogne and enjoys a temperate maritime climate. The richness, the quality and the diversity of its wines derive from the particular character of the terroirs, the experience of the winegrowers and the art of blending. The tide, which flows up both of the region’s rivers, brings very specific characteristics to the wines. With its huge size, Bordeaux reds offer an infinite palette of flavors and combine their qualities in myriad different ways. This wine is 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc. It has a vivid red color with good intensity. It gives a fruity nose, and is slightly spicy with boiled sweet notes of fresh fruit. On the palate it is round, fruity and indulgent.
